New Blog, Fresh Start

After years of meaning to start a tech blog, here it is. Less polished than my professional site, more “here’s what I figured out today”.

What I’ll Write About

Museum Technology - I work at ZKM Karlsruhe, making digital art actually work. This means dealing with 30-year-old browser art, building infrastructure that controls hundreds of devices, and solving problems nobody wrote Stack Overflow answers for.

Digital Art Conservation - Bringing back Flash, Java Applets, and 1990s web art that stopped working. Currently writing the catalogue for the “Choose Your Filter” browser art exhibition.

Self-Hosting - My schuetze.io infrastructure. Proxmox, Docker, Nextcloud, the usual suspects. Also Home Assistant and way too many ESPHome sensors.

AI Experiments - Been building Agentbox, a containerized environment for AI coding agents. Using Claude and other LLMs for actual work, not just demos.

Random Tech Notes - Whatever problem I just solved and might forget the solution to.

Why Now?

I’ve been doing this stuff for years without writing it down properly. Time to change that. If nothing else, future me will appreciate having notes to look back at.

Let’s see how this goes.
